What began as a modest experiment on Instagram quickly became a viral sensation and jumpstarted a career in music for singer-songwriter Erin Bloomer. "When I was about 12 [or] 13, I set up an Instagram account. You could only post 10- to 15-second videos. And I did a couple of them, left it, forgot about it, and then all of a sudden it blew up," she says. "People liked my voice, not just my mum and my dad. It was very nice to know that it wasn't just them. And I was like, oh, there's maybe a chance I could go somewhere with this," she recalls.
In 2021, her hit single "F U & F Her Too" racked up 4 million views on TikTok. Remarkably, Bloomer achieved this on her own, without any label support. She says, "I was super lucky to have [that song] go viral on there. And that just completely changed everything."
When Bloomer performs live, she looks to fashion to help amplify her persona. "I think it does give me that kind of confidence boost to go out on stage," she shares. Outside performing, Bloomer prefers a “comfy, but cool” aesthetic, saying, “I just kind of try and find what pair of my baggy trousers is going to work with it. What can I get away with? And then I always look for a big jacket, love like motorbike jackets [and] fur trim jackets. They’re some of my favorites.”
